We have one of the world's best Akidioists and one of the nicest people you would ever want to meet! I have been with Nelson for six years and not only have I've gained a better understanding about Aikido but I have gained so many friends from having Aikido in my life.

When I was 6 years old I knew that I wanted to study Aikido. After the first time I witnessed a hip throw or Koshi Waza I was hooked!

I remember the question I asked myself well "How can I do that?" By the time I finally got a chance to study Aikido I was well into my 20's and had spent considerable time training in Jujutsu and Karate.

I spent several years dedicating myself to several other schools yet I still found myself feeling pensive, that is, until I stepped into Nations Aikikai. As I watched Andujar Sensei perform, I was sent back to that very first time. There was a precision and attention to detail as he presented each technique that I had never seen before in an instructor.

When I joined, the first class I took felt just like the one I attended yesterday friendly and exciting! I am often asked "What do YOU get out of it, out of Aikido?" While that is a good question, I usually will answer "Everyone gets something different from their training. Like in all things the more you put in the more you get out."

I have been practicing and learning the art of Aikido for over 23 years.  I started studying Aikido in Los Angeles.  Through the years I continued my Aikido education at Stanford, Cambridge, MA, Albuquerque, NM, and under four different instructors in Houston, TX.

I met Sensei Andujar at a Houston Aikido seminar.  I was impressed on the way Sensei Andujar executed his Aikido moves.  His style of Aikido was very unique.  I was intrigued and interested in his Aikido style.  In 1997 I started practicing with Sensei Andujar.  To this day I continue to practice with Sensei Andujar, driving an hour each way to attend his classes.

Through the past years Sensei Andujar has been an amazing instructor to myself and his other students.  Sensei Andujar brings to his classes not only his Aikido experience, but also an extensive martial arts background in Ju Jitsu, and Judo.  Sensei Andujar also applies his life experiences to his Aikido style in that his style tends to be more "street smart"

I would highly recommend that any student of martial arts, be they beginners or advanced practitioners, avail themselves of the opportunity to participate in Sensei Andujar's classes.  By seeing Sensei Andujar in person, they will be able to see the unique style and quality that Sensei Andujar brings to his classes.
